Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Platte-Geddes School District takes great pride in the strong community support shown for our Black Panther athletic programs, teams, and coaches. The unmatched school spirit that fills our gyms and athletic complex is a tradition that we deeply value. To ensure that everyone in attendance continues to enjoy a safe and welcoming environment, we are asking for your assistance in addressing student behavior during school events.
We ask that students remain seated in the stands during games and contests. While we recognize that space is sometimes limited and children naturally enjoy being active, it is important that they do not spend time loitering or playing in areas where supervision is difficult and safety could be compromised.
Expectations for Student Movement
We understand that students will need to leave their seats to use the restroom or visit the concessions stand. However, once they have done so, they should return promptly to their seats and not linger in other areas.
Near the northeast bathrooms and lobby areas
Near the concession stands
Under the south bleachers
In the multipurpose room/gym when it is not in use
In the school hallways or any other restricted areas
At the Athletic Complex, students should not:
Play under the bleachers
Swing from the beams under the sports tower
Play on the Black Panther statues
Play in the field area on the west side of the complex
We have allowed students to play football in the grassy area near the north entrance, but we ask for your help in ensuring that trash is properly disposed of after games. If large amounts of garbage continue to remain after events, we will unfortunately have to eliminate this privilege as well.
A Shared Responsibility
We understand that part of what makes attending school events enjoyable is the sense of community and togetherness. While seating and gathering space can sometimes be limited, we are doing our best to create a safe and positive atmosphere for all. By working together—parents, students, staff, and community members—we can maintain a school environment that reflects our Panther pride both on and off the field.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support of Platte-Geddes Schools. Together, we can ensure that our events remain safe, enjoyable, and spirited for all who attend.
Sincerely,
Platte-Geddes Admin Team
