Platte-Geddes School District Activities Recommendations to the Board of Education

SDHSAA Recommendation “Tier 1”

Football / Athletic Complex Events:

Bathroom Recommendation: 

·         No more than four people in the restrooms at one time

·         Lines are formed outside with social distance recommendations in place

·         Hand sanitizer dispensers will be placed in each restroom

·         Portable toilets well be added to the east side of the athletic complex

Tailgating: Tailgating is allowed with the following protocols in place:

·         Meals, refreshments, and condiments will be served out of the storage-shed area.

·         Single file serving lines with social distancing in place

·         Servers are required to wear masks and gloves and must serve behind a Plexiglas partition

·         Picnic tables will be spaced according to social distancing recommendations and those attending the tailgate party will be encouraged to social distance while eating

Seating Options: 

·         Home team fans are encouraged to park on the south side of the athletic complex and use that entrance

·         Visiting team fans are encouraged to park in the north parking lot and use that entrance

·         Flexible seating will be implemented. Spectators may sit in the bleachers and follow social distancing guidelines. Home team fans are encouraged to sit on the south side of the main bleachers and visiting team fans are encouraged to sit on the north side of the main bleachers. Additional bleachers will be added to the east side of the football field for the visiting team’s fans. The football field and track will be roped. Spectators may view the game from any areas beyond the roped off areas. Fans are not allowed on the track at any time.

·         Home team fans are encouraged to park on the south side of the athletic complex and use that entrance

·         Visiting team fans are encouraged to park in the north parking lot and use that entrance

·         Ticket takers will wear masks and gloves

·         Hand sanitizer will be available at each entrance

Concession Stand:  

·         Workers will be required to wear facemasks and gloves

·          Concession stand workers will be limited to anywhere from 4-6

·         Plexiglas partitions   

·         Two single file lines at the concession stand with social distancing recommendations in place

·         No self-serve items and condiments (ketchup, mustard, etc.) will be distributed in packages

Volleyball / Armory / Multi-Purpose Gym Events: 

Armory Entrance: 

·         Home team fans are encouraged to use the north parking lot and northeast entrance

·         Visiting team fans are encouraged to park on the west side of the armory and use the west armory entrance

·         Ticket takers will wear mask and gloves

Separate Visiting and Home Fans: 

·         Visiting team fans will sit on the west ends of both the north and south sets of bleachers.

·         Seating areas will be designated and clearly marked. If seating areas become full, fans may expand seating to the next  section

·         Visiting team fans will use the two west sections of steps for the permanent bleachers to reach their designated seating areas.

Separate Visiting and Home Fans (multipurpose room gym): 

·         Home team fans are encouraged to use the south bleachers

·         Visiting team fans are encouraged to use the north bleachers

Separate Restroom Usage: 

·         Visiting team fans are encouraged to use the south restrooms located under the permanent bleachers

·         Home team fans are encouraged to use the restrooms located in the northeast entrance area

Concession Stand:

·         Workers will be required to wear facemasks and gloves

·          Concession stand workers will be limited to anywhere from 4-6

·         Plexiglas partitions installed  

·         Two single file lines at the concession stand with social distancing recommendations in place

·         No self-serve items and condiments (ketchup, mustard, etc.) will be distributed in packages 

·         Pre-packaged food will be served out of the main concessions stand.

·         Popcorn, pizza, Panther wraps, and hot dogs will be served out of the secondary concessions stand

Team Benches:

·         The bottom two bleachers will serves as the team benches. The third row bleacher will be left open to adequately separate players from fans. These designated areas will be marked with the necessary signage

·         Visiting teams will use the northeast entrance and the locker rooms located in the multipurpose room gym

* Congregating on the fields or court following any contest/activity is prohibited.  Congregating in all areas within school district facilities is highly discouraged.   

* Guidance will be posted regarding social distancing and hygiene at all entrances and in high traffic areas within all Platte-Geddes School District athletic facilities. 

* All hallways to elementary areas will be closed off and nobody will be permitted to enter those areas.  Multi-purpose room will be closed off when not in use.  

* Fans will be strongly encouraged to wear face masks as recommended by the SDHSAA.     

* Children attending the games will be strongly encouraged to sit with their parents. They will not be allowed to loiter in the northeast entrance area, near the concessions stands, or in the hallway under the south bleachers
