The middle school football meeting location has changed. It will be in the high school library.
The elementary (armory) and high school gyms will be off limits beginning on Wednesday, August 7 and until further notice. They will be resurfacing the wood floors to prepare for the upcoming sports seasons.
Friendly Reminder to all 6th-12th grade student athletes: Please drop on your physical forms at the business office or bring them with you to the Parent/Athlete meetings. Student-athletes will not be able to participate in practice or games until they have completed an athletic physical.
For All 7-12 Band Students: TOMORROW is the First Day of Band Camp (Aug. 7) from 9:00-noon. Please wear tennis shoes and bring a water bottle. Everyone will come at 9:00 and start in the high school music room. If you have NOT checked out your instrument yet, please plan to come at 8:30 to check out your horn. River City Truck Fest is Tommy Biehl’s senior capstone project. The Truck Fest will be held at Ringling Gravel and Construction on the south edge of Platte this Saturday, August 10 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Food vendors, including Platte Locker, Donut Department, and The Ice Shack, will be onsite to offer a variety of food options. Awards and door prizes will be given at 7:30 and a truck cruise down Platte’s main street will start at 8:00 PM. Entrance into the truck meet is a free will donation and all proceeds will benefit the Terry Severson Memorial Fund, which supports veterans' mental health initiatives.

We will be open to all 3rd-6th Graders in Platte Geddes and surrounding area
Pad checkout will be August 22nd and our first Practice will be August 27th.
We will provide a helmet, shoulder pads, two jerseys, and two pairs of pants (pads included). Mouth pieces will be for sale at checkout or you can bring your own.

Beza Fite Senior Project Information: 6th-8th grade girls are invited to join Beza for a middle school bible study called, Friends+Faith+Flourish. The dates are August 1, 8, and 15, from 6:30-7:45pm at the Calvary Baptist Church. If you are interested, please call 605-680-2076.
The Platte-Geddes School District is looking for a English Learner Communication Liaison. This is a part-time position and the candidate must be fluent in Spanish. The Communication Liaison will assist Spanish speaking families and their students with the completion of enrollment forms, assist the students in becoming acclimated to their new school environments, work with district personnel to translate birth certificates, reports cards, etc. If you or someone you know may be interested in the position, please contact Joel Bailey at 605-337-3391.

The recycling shed for aluminum cans has been temporarily relocated to the north side of the high school building until the parking lot project is completed.
Work on the elementary parking lot is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 10. We ask that you no longer park in that lot until the project is completed. Work on the northwest parking lot will begin later next week. You may use the northwest lot until the work begins. You may also park around the elementary building and on the west side of Iowa Avenue.
