Today, our Good News Call is going out to McKenzie Mushitz. McKenzie was nominated for the call by a classmate. Her classmates and teachers have noticed how incredibly KIND McKenzie is to others, at all times. She displays kindness by noticing little things that others need assistance with and helping them, she says kind things to others, and she is a good friend. McKenzie is observed on a daily basis thinking of the well-being of those around her. Thank you, McKenzie , for being an AWESOME kiddo!

Thank you to the SD Department of Transportation for the lighted bracelets and information on walking and biking to school safely!
Today at school, every child received a bracelet and a card with safety information regarding walking or biking to school safely.

Today, our Good News Call went out to Regg Meyerink and Brockston Holleman. Regg and Brock have been instrumental in welcoming a new student to Platte-Geddes Elementary. Regg and Brock take time out of their recess to play football with the student, to play catch with him, and they invite him to play with them all of the time. They display kindness, patience, concern for others, caring, and respect to him. He is a younger child, and he would tell anyone that his favorite time of the day is recess with Regg and Brock! Thank you, Regg and Brock, for the displaying the Panther Way Expectation of Kindness.

Flu Shot Clinic in cooperation with Platte Medical Clinic will be held on October 17, 2023. Please call the school office if you need a form sent home. Thank you.

Good News Call
The “Good News Call” today went out to Dominick Schoenrock. Dom was nominated for the “Good News Call” for help and kindness shown on the school playground. He was "caught doing good" by picking up every single recess ball around the playground prior to our school day, on several occasions. He was also observed showing kindness to our younger students. If another student is missing their backpack, Dom is always there to pick up the bag and bring it to the rightful owner. Thank you, Dom, for showing the Panther Way Expectations of Kindness and Respect. We appreciate the help picking up our playground and watching out for our young students outside.

Attention Football Fans: Due to increased chances of severe thunderstorms tomorrow evening (9/22/23), the start time for the varsity football game at Bon Homme (Tyndall) has been moved to 3pm.

The "Good News Call" this week went out to Remi Schuman. Remi has been exceptionally kind to a new child in our building. She quietly assists teachers with transitions to different classrooms and around the school. She offers a hand to hold, a hug when needed, and a smile ALWAYS. She shows maturity in her willingness to help us, and to help all kids whenever needed. She has one of the kindest hearts we’ve ever seen.
Thank you, Remi, for the help and kindness shown to others and for modeling the Panther Way Expectation of Kindness.

Platte-Geddes School District Expectations: Parent/Community Survey
https://www.platte-geddes.k12.sd.us/article/1243696

Dear Parents/Guardians,
We appreciate the support at all Platte-Geddes extra-curricular activities. We love seeing our future student-athletes and musicians in attendance at sporting events and concerts. However, we are writing to ask for your help. The district has one administrator on duty during school events. Student supervision is one of the responsibilities of the administrator on duty. We are fortunate to have large facilities, but it is nearly impossible to supervise every student during these events.
Thus, we are asking for your help in keeping our students out from under the bleachers and swinging on the beams at the athletic complex. We are also asking for your help in keeping the students out of the foyer by the northeast entrance at the elementary and multipurpose room gym when it is not being used. This message has been relayed to the students on several occasions, but it doesn’t seem to stick.
We understand how hard it is for young students to sit in the bleachers for an entire game or concert, but we cannot have them running around unsupervised. The last thing we want is for a student to get hurt during a school event.
As we have said many times, we are at our best when we are working together. The safety of our students during extra-curricular activities is a team effort and your assistance in greatly appreciated.
Respectfully,
Platte-Geddes Administration
