*The Elementary Honors Choir Concert will be held in Brookings on Thursday, February 10. Students attending from Platte-Geddes School District include: Aiden Boltjes, Britton Nachtigal, Brynn Meyerink, Chloe Fite, Dixsea Voetberg, Hayden Strand, Kamryn Brondsema, Lillian Norden, Miley Larson. Congratulations to these nine attendees and best of luck in Brookings! Here are a few photos from our send-off yesterday. The students sang us a song and walked through our hallway as we wished them good luck!

*Congratulations to our local spelling bee winners who will represent Platte-Geddes Elementary at the Missouri Valley Regional Spelling Bee in Gregory this year. They are, 1st Graders: Jace Antonsen and Corbin Bogenhagen; 2nd Graders: Braylynn Schoenrock and Murphy Nachtigal; 3rd Graders: Karsin Kramp and Oakley DuFrain; 4th Graders Lizzy Groon and Teddy Duffy; 5th Graders: Norris Maydew and Danni Schuman; and 6th Graders Owen Feiok and Remmington Meyerink. (Not Pictured Are: Norris Maydew, Owen Feiok, and Remmingron Meyerink) The MV Spelling Bee will be held on February 23, 2022.

The Good News Call this week went out to Chance Hermanek, Rhett Harrington and Myles Leader. Chance, Rhett, and Myles have been caught numerous times cleaning up messes around the school. These include messes that they have not made. Thank you, boys, for your responsibility and for caring so much about others and our school. Keep up the great work. And thanks for being AWESOME kiddos! The TDA doubleheader is rescheduled for Monday January 24 at Armour with same rolling schedule 4:00 girls jv boys jv girls varsity boys varsity The junior high game scheduled for that same day will be played in Armour starting at 3:00. Only one game will be played. Thank You!

The basketball doubleheader scheduled for tonight against TDA has been postponed, due to Tripp-Delmont not having school today. We will share the reschedule date once the athletic directors have it set. Thank You!

The Good News Call this week went out to Ziva Zephier. Ziva was nominated for the "Good News Call" by Mrs. Lacee Mills. Mrs. Mills nominated Ziva for being a Happy Helper in the STEAM Classroom. Ziva notices when the room needs to be cleaned and swept. She cleans the tables and cleans up after projects; even when the mess is not hers. She notices what needs to be done and she takes the iniciative to do the work. And she does so with a smile on her face! Thank you Ziva for being a great and happy helper!
