Mrs. Kathy Holter and Mrs. Jennifer Knecht represented Platte-Geddes Schools at the National Association of Federally Impacted Schools Conference in Washington DC last week. The NAFIS Conference included a listening session with staff members from Senator Thune and Round's Offices and Representative Johnson's Office, and a tour of the U.S. Capital Building.

Motivation speaker, Cory Greenwood and the extremely talented Ashton Brooke Gill sent the Platte-Geddes students off for spring break with a great message and music.

There will be a send off for the wrestlers tomorrow morning. You are encouraged to line Main Street and send the team off with signs, honking, etc. They are scheduled to leave from the elementary at 7:45.

Cory Rabenberg, Kyle Meyerink, and Josh Bultsma all former members of the SD Army National Guard, spoke to students at Platte-Geddes Elementary today in honor of Presidents' Day. They presented on flag etiquette and proper treatment of the United States Flag. They taught us how to fold a flag and told us the meaning of each flag fold. They presented each child in grades 3, 4, and 5 with their very own United States Flag.

When local business, Perky Grinders, wanted help with Kindness Week, they called on the students at Platte-Geddes Elementary. Our students rose to the challenge and created outstanding "Kindness coffee sleeves". Be Kind! Throw Kindness Around Like Confetti! Be Kind Whenever Possible, It's ALWAYS Possible! Kindness and Coffee!

A special THANK YOU to our Platte-Geddes High School "Educator Rising" Students and National Honors Society Students for spending their afternoon assisting us in hosting the Missouri Valley Spelling Bee. The entertained the participating students with a game of "Simon Says", they corrected spelling words, ran errands between rooms, passed out awards, and even helped us pick up. The future of education looks bright!
