Our Elementary Student Council Members are sponsoring a fund raiser for Denny and Carol Oberbroekling. Students may "guess the number of candies in the jar" for $1 (or a donation of any amount). The students with the ten closest guesses will all take home a pumpkin. The student with the winning guess will take home a pumpkin and the candy. All money raised will be given to Denny and Carol to assist with Denny's medical expenses. Students may bring their $1 to school on Friday, October 13 or Monday and Tuesday, October 16 and 17. We will add the money raised to the "Baked Potato Supper" Fundraiser from the P-G Volleyball game on Monday, October 16. The children at Platte-Geddes Elementary "simply adore" Miss Carol in the office and this will give them the opportunity to contribute to our fundraising efforts. Thank you!

The Educator’s Rising Students at Platte-Geddes want to show appreciation for all of the great educators here in the Platte-Geddes district. To do this we are sponsoring an Educator of the Month! There will be an educator chosen for each building, middle/high school and elementary each month. We will put out a google for parents, students, and community members to nominate an educator from PG. We are so excited to get this going and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things happening in our district. Please have the form filled out by October 18th so we can get started this month! Here is the google form if you have an educator you wish to nominate: nomination form: https://forms.gle/QV5MskAN2BMzBRmo9

Today, our Good News Call went out to Regg Meyerink and Brockston Holleman. Regg and Brock have been instrumental in welcoming a new student to Platte-Geddes Elementary. Regg and Brock take time out of their recess to play football with the student, to play catch with him, and they invite him to play with them all of the time. They display kindness, patience, concern for others, caring, and respect to him. He is a younger child, and he would tell anyone that his favorite time of the day is recess with Regg and Brock! Thank you, Regg and Brock, for the displaying the Panther Way Expectation of Kindness.

Good News Call The “Good News Call” today went out to Dominick Schoenrock. Dom was nominated for the “Good News Call” for help and kindness shown on the school playground. He was "caught doing good" by picking up every single recess ball around the playground prior to our school day, on several occasions. He was also observed showing kindness to our younger students. If another student is missing their backpack, Dom is always there to pick up the bag and bring it to the rightful owner. Thank you, Dom, for showing the Panther Way Expectations of Kindness and Respect. We appreciate the help picking up our playground and watching out for our young students outside.

The "Good News Call" this week went out to Remi Schuman. Remi has been exceptionally kind to a new child in our building. She quietly assists teachers with transitions to different classrooms and around the school. She offers a hand to hold, a hug when needed, and a smile ALWAYS. She shows maturity in her willingness to help us, and to help all kids whenever needed. She has one of the kindest hearts we’ve ever seen. Thank you, Remi, for the help and kindness shown to others and for modeling the Panther Way Expectation of Kindness.
